Wood Ducks

Surprisingly, these ducks are not made of wood. A few facts:

Wood ducks have the broadest wings and largest eyes of wild ducks. Their broad wings and long tails help them fly through trees and branches. (STEVEN LANE/The Columbian)

This article profiles a duck enthusiast who has built 17 wood duck nesting boxes on his property. Ironically, his father was a duck hunter.
